What I used to do is send the key input of everything else but the vocals to a bus, off the console. I love waves rcomp. Will probably end up keepung rverb.. Waves RCompressor The Waves RCompressor , at this point, is considered a staple compressor and is used by many audio professionals. It has a somewhat different approach but I don't see why you wouldn't like it.

Nah, I'm a Pro. I however suspect you'll like NP if you try it and don't expect it to be "a clone of Rcomp".

Ill have to play with reacomp. This mode sounds less dynamic and smoother.

I think maybe because the sound of the plugin is a kin to the L-1 and the RComp that I feel comfortable with it. Find More Posts by airon. Sure, you can get similar results with it versus an opto emulator, but why not just use an emulation style plugin?

Please Login to access. One of my personal favorite mix buss compressor is Rcomp Renaissance compressor from Waves. I find that the RenAXX is better suited for an aggressive situation.

Try it out instead of an EQ next time. Nothing else will be. The Renaissance Channel uses the same compression algorithms as the Renaissance Compressor but does not have the Character and Behavior controls.

Big thanks from Sweden. Another thing I like about the Waves L-1 Limiter is that it truly does sound musical. I know the RCompressor quite well and I know what the attack and release sound like.

These audio plugins are meant to be my bread and butter in a mix session and I can always add texture or colour with other tools. Its a very universal plug-in you can use it on drums bass guitar vox busses etc. It has gotten very annoying. Best I can tell, this spread is centered at the threshold so that with a 12db Knee Size, we'd expect it to start to apply some gain reduction at 6db below the threshold, and not reach full ratio until 6db above.

I can't be specific about rcomp, but maybe a good understanding of compressors would help. I highly recommend to measure the dynamic range after mix buss compression to make sure the dynamic range would be preserved. The gain curve actually folds back over in a weird sort of way.
